I am married with two children and live outside Bath in the U.K. I teach at a state secondary school and was inspired to write whilst completing my Doctorate, which explored aspects of education for sustainability. In my stories I put ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances to document our fracturing relationship with the natural world.
As a keen traveller, I find that regular month-long expeditions to remote locations provide ideal writing material. I published my first two novels entitled “The Jaguar” (set in Mexico) and “Leopard Skies” (set in Tanzania) with Andrews UK. The third, a ghost story called Feather, has recently been submitted. My latest novel will be based upon my experiences in China at the time of the Tiananmen Square protests.
A lifetime of adventure means I'm rarely short of source material, but my writing skills aren't yet strong enough to make this interesting to other people. How do you inspire others to want to take the journey with you?
