• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hello,

I haven't posted here in quite a long time, but I just wanted to say thank you to the Colony as a whole, and a few individuals more specifically, for advice that I haven't replied to, or said thank you for, but have nonetheless benefitted from. As a *relatively* young writer, I, perhaps, haven't felt as though I have a huge amount to contribute, but I'd like to think that maybe that is changing and I will be able to contribute more!

Specifically, I have come across some fantastic advice from Paul Whybrow, Robinne and Rachel, but there are definiately others whose names just don't jump to mind at the moment. I have recently self-published my first novel through Amazon, and have managed to get into the top 1000 in the Kindle Book store, and number 1 in my category, and wouldn't have been able to do so without advice that i have picked up here. So thank you!!!
