• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

There was a time when I’d nothing to do

But sit and dream and reminisce about you

And maybe at some point I’ll find the time

To remember the lovers who left me behind

Or ones I’ve abandoned, often too soon

Aware of the snare of love’s temporary cocoon

Now, though, I sit and I sip and I’m free

Earth turns and yearns and reveals life to me.

Winter is the hush of night, spring the drenching rain

Summer is the golden fields and whispering of grain.

From this I know I cannot tire, autumn’s glow unfurled.

From this peak I’ll not descend, pure wonders of this world.
