    Another thing beta readers find that you or me, the writer, unbelievably didn't see is the obvious loophole. I lose count of how many times I have sighed with an "Of course! Why didn't I see that?"

    On the up side, reading the opening pages of books that clearly haven't been critiqued make me feel lots better about my own writing lol

    This attitude highlights another important bonus to having beta readers - increased self-awareness. These people clearly lack any.
