That's what the course I'm doing focusses on: they select you onto it on the basis that you can write good prose accessible to the age of child/teenager that's your target audience. They teach the craft of storytelling and what the children's publishing industry is looking for. A lot of money, but I hope it'll be worth it. I'm certainly learning.
