Welcome to The Caterpillar ‒ an art & literature magazine for children aged 711 which we have been publishing since 2013.

The spring 2023 was our last, but we continue with The Caterpillar Poetry Prize (judged this year by Kate Wakeling), as well as The Moth Poetry Prize, The Moth Short Story Prize and The Moth Nature Writing Prize over at the mothership, The Moth.

Why not purchase a copy of The Caterpillar for as little as €5? Or how about a brilliant and affordable gift bundle of five issues for as little as €20! Ideal for young lovers of stories and art, and as aids for teachers to inspire, choc-a-bloc as they are with poetry, stories and stunning artwork.

Featured in 'Best Educational Magazines for children 2020' in Junior magazine, and The School Reading List

'The Caterpillar is the sort of magazine I would have devoured as a young person’ Liz Brownlee

'From beautiful and thought-provoking to quirky and fun, something for everyone!' Linda Middleton

'I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE The Caterpillar' Charles Ghigna

'Winning The Caterpillar Poetry Prize brought me a book publishing deal and many wonderful opportunities thereafter. Thank you with all my heart.' Louise Greig
