I feel so guilty sitting here in a non-socially-distanced cafe having a coffee, no masks required, no hand sanitiser at the door. We may be cut off from the rest of the world, but in our lovely shaky isles life is back to covid-free normality.

I'm going to have to socially isolate more than I normally socially isolate because hay fever has hit with avengence: itchy eyes, sneezing, sneezing and sneezing and . . .
A very great friend of mine who lived til she was almost 100 told me the cure is to sting yourself liberally with nettles, as soon as they appear in spring. Do that once a week until the end of autumn. Apparently this would makes your immune system concentrate on nettles and forget about the pollen... :)

This virus is severely overpowered, and it also appears to be mutating at a terrifying rate.

...what if it attains sentience and shows up in the Colony asking for advice on publishing its memoirs?
