• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hello all. I'm Angela from Tampa, Florida. I write upmarket fiction and romance. Although both of my books have been professionally edited, I've only gotten a few requests for fulls and many rejections. Would love to partner with someone with a similar style to critique and encourage each other. I'm looking forward to this community!

Hello Angela, and welcome.
The great thing I’ve discovered about Litopia, is you can get loads of really helpful feedback, from lots of different people. All ages, tastes, and range of skill-sets.
We all help each other avoid the most common pitfalls (well, they all help me, at any rate).
If you pop along to the Forum, Writer’s Workshop, you’ll see how we post up sections of our work, and then get valuable critiques from whoever wants to do so.
Because rejections, however thick-skinned you are, are not very nice. So I feel for you (we’re all in the same boat), and hope we can help you tweak things enough to start getting ‘yes please’ instead.
Xx

Welcome Angela. Hope you enjoy Litopia.

It’s extremely friendly here so do feel free to get involved as soon as you’re ready.

This is a good place to check out (How-to guide) to see a lot of what goes on in the colony.

If anything is unclear please contact me and I’ll be happy to assist.
