• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi all

I'm new to Litopia and forums in general so please be gentle with me.

I've been writing novels for a good few years now and enjoy the process of creating books but have become dispirited by the lonely, fruitless process of submitting work to literary agents. I'm hoping that joining the community will help build my confidence. Already, from looking through the existing posts, I've found a lot of things to relate to and I'm particularly interested in the discussions regarding self-publication/building an online writing profile (as I'm beginning to consider these options...).

I'd also be really interested in sharing my work with others and critiquing theirs in turn to get a sense of where my work is so hope to speak to you in future threads :)

Hi and welcome. Sounds like you and I are at much the same stage, especially with regard to requiring / seeking independent feedback on creative efforts to date, and I look forward to hearing more about what you're doing.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Appreciate it.

Welcome :) If you are looking for kind and supportive peers you have come to the right place :)
