• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

It was a tiny contest for flash fiction based on a writing prompt. I tied first place with a friend of mine. Which is pretty funny. Well, it is to me.

The contest was through a facebook group called Inkslingers. The group is run by another friend of mine who writes horror. She's from Canada. I'm sure she'd be happy to have people from all over the world join her group.

I often post the link to the PopUps in there. Although, I haven't seen anyone from the group show up on the Litopia website yet. I certainly wish they would. I don't really understand not wanting to take a peek at what an agent or an editor might say. But ... people are weird and perhaps writers even more so ...

I got a $25 Amazon gift card. So, Jae (my Canadian friend) isn't too stingy with the prizes.

If you're interested you can read the story(ies) that won on Facebook.

Well done. I also checked out the link but found that Katie-Ellen is absolutely right about needed to join to read it. Is it anywhere else? Your blog?
