• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi,
My name is Sam. Last year I self-published a crime novel Daughters of Derby. (I hesitated before saying that I self-published given some of the things I've read.)
I've just finished the first draft of another novel Heretics. It's a horror/time travel novel set in 1959 and 1859. I'm planning to try and get published via the conventional route this time.
Looking to network, learn, get advice.

Welcome!:) 'Heretics' sounds interesting. Good luck!
Litopia isn't normally this quiet by the way...

Hi there! And best of luck on Heretics. Sounds interesting!

Hello :) It does sound interesting. And congratulation on Daughter's of Derby. Litopia's friendly to the idea of self-publishing. It really is :) Plenty of it happening here. Any concerns centre on cost, reliable editing, and support in marketing

Thank you all for your kind welcome - if only the rest of the internet was so pleasant!

Hi Sam, come down to the Flash Club, dip your toes into the soothing flow of your fellow Litopians creative gurgling -- all in under 500 words.
