• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Poetry November

The World Between the Words
It used to be February

My least favourite month

The month my husband nearly died

The month my daughter nearly died

The month she was molested by a stranger.

I would dread Februaries as a cursed month

A month that had to be endured.

But it has been superseded.

November is now my least favourite

The month of 'would-have-been-days'

The month of tragic anniversaries

The month of birthdays crossed out in diaries

And I dread it more, as it is more cursed.

A month that has to be survived.
