• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I’m delighted to say that the Houses are now, cautiously, open for business.

Some points.

  • I’m very much treating this as a no-frills beta test. So approach it with that in mind.
  • It’s essential... vital... imperative and really rather important that you download the User’s Guide you’ll find there. Read it at least 24 hours before you post, or critique, anything.
  • Leave feedback for me in the (temporary) area I’ve created – not here.
  • Please consider becoming a Founder. We need to put Litopia on an even keel, and this is an excellent way to do it.

I’m taking 7 days away from my desk, hunting some rare sunshine… the English summer this year was particularly English. And August has been pretty stressful, so I need a recharge. Off to Italy, where I hope to be able to get wifi access, but no guarantees. If I can get online, I will. However, it will be on my phone, which means that I’ll be able to post short messages, but not do any behind-the-scenes admin or tech work. That will have to wait until I’m back on the 17th.
