But go for success where your aptitude is. I'm tone deaf. It might be possible for me to become a good musician, but more likely after a lifetime of practice I'd still just be a mediocre one. But my brain is geared for story.

Makes me think of the conundrum of dressage whose movements came from short backed Spanish horses w a specific confirmation doing what they did naturally while at liberty. The cruelties and difficulty today is getting long-backed thoroughbreds to do what physically they are not built to do.
