I mean, i read the samples of their books on the Zon and they are in desperate need of betas lol. I think it might be arrogance in some cases. "My writing is already perfect. I don't need feedback."

Do they have deadlines? I doubt it. They should get on with something else while their betas are reading. Plenty of things to be writing meanwhile. If their voice will be ruined by betas, it isn't strong enough. Grammar is liberation. And...

Yeah there were a fair number of Indie Authors saying they didn't use beta readers. A lot of the reasons were: 1) waste of time. 2) they'll ruin my voice. 3) grammar is oppression.
